Leon Kupferschmid was born in Israel. He began dancing at age 13 at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance high-school.
Upon graduation, he joined Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. In 2005, he was accepted on full scholarship to the
Juilliard School in New York, where he had the privilege of performing works by Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Aszure Barton, Nicolo Fonte and many more. Leon graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009, and since, has performed in Europe, Asia, central and south America, and throughout the United States and Canada, with the distinguished Compagnie Marie Chouinard, and Compagnie Flak/Jose Navas. He has had as well, the privilege of performing works by choreographers such as: Crystal Pite, Christopher House, Idan Sharabi, and Trey Mcintyre. Leon joined Cirque du Soleil as an artistic talent scout, specializing in both - dance and actors/clowns, in 2016.
