Physical Festival Chicago: The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote de la Mancha

‘Cunningly constructed and wonderfully inventive. A show that embodies not just Cervantes’ novel but the spirit of the fringe
itself.’ Lyn Gardner, THE GUARDIAN

‘Technically brilliant and jaw-droppingly entertaining.’ THE STAGE

Little Soldier’s award winning and critically acclaimed take on Cervantes’ timeless novel is back in London for the last time. Joined on stage by Told By An Idiot associate artist Stephen Harper, and with help from Spymonkey’s Aitor Basauri, the company attempt to re-enact one of the most  accomplished works of fiction ever written.

Two feisty senoritas and a downtrodden Englishman embark on a journey through Spain. Accompanied only by a guitarist whose presence there makes no sense whatsoever, they will lead you to joy, pain and ultimate wisdom. This is sixty glorious minutes which conclude with the common sentiment: “These guys did not read the book”. Little Soldier presents an imaginative and provocative adventure of epic proportions, to be taken with a pinch of salt and a handlebar moustache.
